Think of a place within arm's reach of the bustling city of Cambridge and yet distant to offer a tranquil and enjoyable time either before or after you visit all the attractions the county has to offer and then you have to consider us!
We like to stay traditional and keep the feel of a homely lovely pub with lots of charm and flair with genuine care to provide great food and great service.
Everything we cook we do it with love combining traditional pub food along with a contemporary diverse mix of continental flavours constantly challenging the minds of our dinners on what to choose. We cook from a traditional fish and chips to a wonderful way of introducing an octopus salad or a meat mixed grill against one of our signature dishes, the beef espetada or even a burger seasoned and made to our own recipe...oh and the Nata Custard Pie with cinnamon and ice cream! No words to explain other to indulge and try it!
But the vindication is in the end left to your appetence and palate when you visit us.
So much more than a pub...we are an urban retreat that can stimulate the mind and let you take control of time! We look forward to serve you.
"It's a while since we stayed at The White Horse but nothing has changed. You are greeted with the same smiles and how are they able to assist.we stayed one night en route to Kentand a friend joined us for dinner. It was a Tuesday evening and we didn't expect the place to be crowded but there were other customers who also appeared to be enjoying themselves. The menus are about to be changed but to our delight the natos and ice cream will remain. The food we had was an absolute delight."

"The hosts here were very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. It was all perfectly adequate, a basic motel-style room. (No hairdryer, no view, no armchairs. I did not find any free WiFi either). But, as we were expecting a room in a country village inn, we were very surprised to find that the rooms were actually in a self contained “shed” facing on to the car park and not in the inn at all.Not much sound insulation between the rooms or from traffic passing on the main road just outside. The breakfast was copious, enthusiastically served by a young chef. But we had had to stand outside and knock several times before he heard us from the kitchen to let us into the main building - ok on a sunny morning, but would not have been much fun if it had been wet.The food in the restaurant was lovely, with a Portuguese theme.
